Josie was a wonderful communicator. Casa Querencia was even more beautiful in person. It was clean and the views from every room were perfect! The beds were comfortable and I was surprised to feel so at home that I slept! Sometimes it’s hard getting settled in from traveling but overall the home was so comfortable. I absolutely loved having access to a kitchen to cook meals in the evening after exploring parks and hikes nearby. The village was beautiful to explore. I can wait to go back again!

Casa Querencia is beyond words. The town of Colledemizzo is so beautiful and we very much enjoyed our time at Joan’s residence. She was the best host we’ve ever had and gave us so much information and recommendations to make our trip memorable. Would definitely recommend Casa Querencia to anyone that wants a peaceful getaway in one of the most beautiful regions in Italy!

It’s difficult for me to explain what incredible time we had at Casa Querencia because a lot of it just felt like a dream or a movie set! The house itself is perfect - incredibly comfortable, clean, charming in its simplicity, with everything you need but nothing you don’t. The town itself is welcoming and it’s clear that all the towns people we talked to are madly in love with your hosts. Everyone was very kind and helpful and made us feel at home. Josie‘s welcome booklet perfectly describes everything from directions, parking and great things to do, restaurants to try all around the area, places to explore. Our best days were the days we spent wandering. We’d pick a small town in the mountains nearby as a destination, and then drive all the winding roads before us with beautiful views all around and Italian charm at every turn. I really believe that the Allens have found a little bit of heaven in this space and we felt very relaxed after our stay. The only bad thing about Casa Querencia is that you’ll find yourself immediately planning your return the minute you get home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Josie and Aaron's home. We loved the small village in the heart of Abruzzo, a stunning region full of mountains and beautiful hilltop towns that are so much fun to explore. The home is beautifully decorated and so comfortable, with gorgeous views. The town has only one bar for coffee/wine, but it is not hard to find other wonderful places to eat within a 15-20 minute drive. And the drives are fun! Josie and Aaron have thought of everything at their home - after many, many rentals, this is right up there at the top of my list. I would love to return and spend more time there so that I can explore some of the villages that we just didn't have time to see. If you want to experience real life in Italy, this is a wonderful place to be. With wonderful hosts!

In 2023 we were some of the first guests to enjoy Casa Querencia...and we were so impressed with out hosts' welcome to their special spot in the village of Colledimezzo 🙂 The space itself is lovely, modernized with sweeping vistas over the river and mountains. Lots of kind touches (cooking materials, tea, etc) and a full guest handbook with ideas helped make everything run smoothly! The rooms are fitted well, decorated with modern and charming touches, and the beds are very comfortable. The large bathroom was certainly a plus, as finding a bathroom that spacious in Europe is unusual ? We loved our time at Casa Querencia , and recommend checking it out for your trip to Abruzzo!

Our stay at Casa Querencia was nothing short of enchanting. Nestled in a picturesque 12th-century village, this beautiful Italian home offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the warmth and coziness of the house, which felt like a true home away from home. Every detail, from the tastefully appointed interiors to the inviting spaces that overlook the stunning Lake Bomba exuded a sense of calm and relaxation.

The hosts were exceptional in their communication, offering thoughtful recommendations for local sights, restaurants, and hidden gems in the area. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable, and their local knowledge helped us explore the surrounding area with ease and enjoyment.

Whether enjoying a peaceful evening on the terrace or wandering the cobbled streets of the village, Casa Querencia provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable getaway. We can't wait to return!

We have done a good bit of international travel and most the places we visit we think ehhhh we don't need to go back. This place is the exception. It is just beautiful. The views are amazing. The town and the history are breathtaking. It's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that makes you want to retire there. The surrounding towns have some amazing food as well. And it's only a couple hours from Rome. But honestly I would rather stay here more than Rome.
